De heerlijkheid Morhange werd rechtstreeks beheerd door deze hoge ambtenaar. Zijn huis diende ook als gevangenis. De kerkers bevonden zich aan de achterkant van het gebouw. Het gebouw, geklasseerd als historisch monument, kreeg later andere bestemmingen (gendarmerie, boerderij, Maison de l'Amitié).
