Ergens tussen werkelijkheid en fictie, herinneringen en verbeelding, is "Het huis van Tante Léonie" een van de laatste overgebleven sporen van de omgeving van de schrijver zoals beschreven in zijn roman "Op zoek naar de verloren tijd". Het is een geslaagde en levendige reconstructie en biedt lezers de kans om hun verbeelding te confronteren met de werkelijkheid.
Talrijke schenkingen en legaten van zijn familie en vrienden hebben ons in staat gesteld een rijke collectie voorwerpen, brieven en documenten te verzamelen die ooit aan de schrijver toebehoorden.
