Gîte gelegen halverwege (20 km) tussen Périgueux, geklasseerd als "Ville d'Art et d'Histoire" (kathedraal St Front, Tour de Vésone, Gallo-Romeins circuit, Middeleeuws-Renaissance circuit, Tour Mataguerre. musea....) en Les Eyzies de Tayac, de hoofdstad van de prehistorie (een concentratie van beroemde sites in Les Eyzies de Tayac en in de aangrenzende gemeenten vormen een samenhangend geheel op het gebied van de prehistorie: grotschilderingen zoals die in de grot van Font de Gaume, Bara-Bahau of de gravures van Combarelles, Abri du Poisson of Bernifal, Abri Pataud, Laugerie Haute, Laugerie Basse....en niet te vergeten het Nationaal Prehistorisch Museum en het Internationaal Prehistorisch Centrum).
