Gelegen op de tweede verdieping van het Château des Barons d'Espelette.
Pater Armand David was een van de eersten die China aan het Westen onthulde. Deze Lazaristische missionaris leverde een belangrijke bijdrage aan de naturalistische wetenschappelijke beweging van de 19e eeuw.
Zijn expedities naar China stelden hem in staat heel Europa kennis te laten maken met tot dan toe onbekende diersoorten, zoals de Panda of het Père Armand David hert, maar ook met nieuwe soorten zoals de Buddleia (vlinderboom) of de Davidia Involucrata (zakdoekjesboom).
