In het dorp wonen 964 Mazurois. Het dorp dateert uit het einde van de 11e eeuw. In de feodale tijd behoorde het tot het leengoed van de heer van Montcornet. De kerk Saint-Rémi werd voor het laatst herbouwd in 1793. De klokkentoren had toen 4 kleine torenspitsen die nu verdwenen zijn. De cisterciënzerabdij van Les Mazures, gesticht in 1228, was jarenlang een bedevaartsoord. Water speelt een belangrijke rol in het leven van de gemeente. Er zijn 7 wasplaatsen en fonteinen.
