De kerk Saint-Jean-Baptiste ligt in Ruaux, een klein dorpje in de gemeente Plombières-les-Bains.
Het is geclassificeerd als een "schuurkerk", een bouwtype dat veel voorkwam in het 18e-eeuwse Lotharingen. De kerk is een van de weinige overgebleven voorbeelden van het gebruik van zandsteen of "laves" als dakbedekking in religieuze gebouwen. Deze techniek werd voornamelijk gebruikt van de tweede helft van de 18e tot de 19e eeuw.
Het gebouw werd in 1985 gerestaureerd.
