De Eiffeltoren, Tour Eiffel in het Frans, is een toren gevormd door een roosterstructuur van gietijzer, gelegen op het Champ de Mars - in het Frans, Champ de Mars - aan de kant die aan de Seine raakt, niet ver van de rivier).
Het werd opgericht ter gelegenheid van de Wereldtentoonstelling in Parijs, volgens het ontwerp van de ingenieur Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, en betekende een beslissende mijlpaal in de constructie met ijzer. Hoewel het afgebroken moest worden zodra deze tentoonstelling was afgelopen, besloot men uiteindelijk om dit niet te doen.
