The Musée des Cordeliers houses the only public collection in France devoted to André Citroën's expeditions to Africa by abootenille: La Première Traversée du Sahara in 1922-1923, and the Croisière Noire expedition to Central Africa in 1924-1925. On its 2 floors, the museum presents a panorama of the evolution of French furniture styles from the 17th to the 19th century, as well as decorative arts: French ceramics, Far Eastern porcelain, tapestries and clocks. There is also a remarkable collection of polychromed stone and wooden statues dating from the 13th-14th to 18th centuries, and a collection of European firearms and weapons (17th to early 19th centuries). In progress, "The exhibition "Costumes to read the world" retraces the evolution of fashion from 1770 to 1915". Little adventurers, booklets and games are available to help you discover the collections! Guided tours, workshops and Escape Games are also available for families, by prior arrangement. Free, open every day except Mondays, 25 December, 1 January and 1 May.
