Aberffraw ligt aan de zuidwestkust van het eiland Anglesey, aan de westelijke oever van de rivier Afon Ffraw. Bijna 80% van de bevolking gebruikt Welsh als hoofdtaal. Het dichtstbijzijnde treinstation bevindt zich in Bodorgan, er is een postkantoor in het dorp. De oude St. Marys Church wordt beheerd door de organisatie Friends of Friendless Churches. In de buurt van het dorp liggen het meer Llyn Coron, een neolithische grafkamer bij Barclodiad y Gawres en de 13e-eeuwse kerk van Saint Cwyfan op een heuvel van het eiland Cribinau. In deze alleen per boot bereikbare kerk wordt in de zomermaanden de mis gehouden, ook is ze erg populair voor bruiloften. Aberffraw heeft een zandstrand dat deel uitmaakt van het Anglesey Coastal Path. De kust is erkend als Heritage Coast.
