Codford spoorwegstation was een tussenstation op de Salisbury-tak van de Great Western Railway, gebouwd langs de Wylye-vallei om Warminster en Salisbury met elkaar te verbinden en de omliggende dorpen te bedienen, en gelegen langs de weg van Codford St Peter naar Boyton.
Het station werd geopend op 30 juni 1856, gelijktijdig met dit gedeelte van de spoorlijn. Het oorspronkelijke enkelvoudige perron werd gebouwd aan de noordzijde van de spoorlijn, naast een spoorwegovergang. Een wissel werd hier in 1897 geïnstalleerd, wat de bouw van een tweede perron vereiste om treinen naar Westbury te bedienen. De lijn werd verdubbeld van Heytesbury in 1899 en verder naar Wylye in 1900.
