Strathmore is een strath in het oostelijk centraal Schotland die van noordoost naar zuidwest loopt tussen de Grampian bergen en de Sidlaws.
Het is ongeveer 80 kilometer lang en 16 kilometer breed. Strathmore wordt onderbouwd door Oudrode zandsteen, maar dit is grotendeels verborgen onder glaciaire afzettingen, zanden en grind die tijdens de ijstijd zijn gedeponeerd. De noordoost-naar-zuidwestelijke uitlijning wordt beïnvloed door de onderliggende geologische structuur van het gebied, die de dominante Caledonische trend van zowel de centrale laaglanden als de Hooglanden van Schotland weerspiegelt; de noordelijke rand weerspiegelt de aanwezigheid van de Hoge Grensbreuk. Strathmore is vruchtbaar en heeft een aantal van Schotland's beste akkerbouwgrond, die zachte vruchten en granen produceert.
