De Millennium Bridge, een voetgangersbrug, is een fraaie overspanning. Ze werd echter twee dagen na haar opening alweer gesloten om veiligheidsredenen. De brug begon namelijk vervaarlijk te schommelen onder het gewicht van de vele voetgangers. Sinds februari 2002 is ze opnieuw begaanbaar. Ze brengt je regelrecht naar het imposante gevaarte van het voormalige Bankside Power Station. De krachtcentrale die in het begin van de jaren 1960 gebouwd werd, werd aan het eind van de eeuw volledig ontmanteld en herbergt nu de moderne kunstcollectie van de Tate Gallery: Tate Modern.
