De Apidima-grot is een complex van vier kleine grotten gelegen aan de westkust van het Mani-schiereiland in Zuid-Griekenland. Een systematische onderzoek van de grot heeft Neanderthal en Homo sapiens fossielen opgeleverd uit het Paleolithicum.
Een schedel fossiel, gegeven de naam Apidima 1, toont een mengeling van moderne menselijke en primitieve kenmerken en is gedateerd op meer dan 210.000 jaar oud, ouder dan een Neanderthal schedel die in de grot is gevonden, wat volgens sommige interpretaties Apidima 1 de oudste bewijs maakt van Homo sapiens die buiten Afrika leeft, de op één na oudste is de maxilla van de Misliya-grot, Mount Carmel, Israël, met een maximale leeftijd van ongeveer 190.000 jaar geleden. Apidima 1 is meer dan 150.000 jaar ouder dan eerdere H. sapiens vondsten in Europa.
