Hier, waar de carbonaatbergen eindigen en de vruchtbare "Vlakte van Argos" begint, komen grote hoeveelheden water, uit ondergrondse waterwegen, naar buiten uit een grote karstbron. Het karstwater loopt in de rivier Erasinos (in de oude tijd een riviergod[3]) naar de zee in de Argolische Golf bij het dorp Nea Kios. De uitlaat van de Kefalari-bron is omringd door muren en rijen Platanus-bomen. De orthodoxe kerk gewijd aan de “Gezegende Maagd Maria” staat boven de Kefalari karstbron “Zoodochos Pigi”
