Alpokalja is een geografische regio in het westen van Hongarije. Het hoogste punt is Írott-kő op 882 meter boven zeeniveau. Hoewel er verschillende lagere bergen zijn, is het merendeel van het gebied heuvelachtig. Naaldwouden zijn kenmerkend voor de regio. Alpokalja omvat twee belangrijke, maar niet zeer uitgebreide bergketens: de Kőszeg-bergen en de Sopron-bergen. De Vas-heuvels en Balfi-heuvels worden ook als onderdeel van het gebied beschouwd.
