Bari, opgericht met de Griekse naam Βάριον, werd later in het Latijn Barium genoemd, is een stad in Italië, de hoofdstad van de regio Apulië en van de Metropolitane Stad Bari.
De stad ligt aan de Adriatische Zee en beslaat ongeveer 40 km aan kustlijn, tussen de gemeenten Giovinazzo in het noorden en Mola di Bari in het zuiden. In de breedte strekt het zich uit tot ongeveer 13 km, van het havengebied tot het uiterste deel van de wijk Loseto in het zuidwesten.
