Het verbindt de dorpen Monno in het zuiden en Grosio in het noorden. De tophoogte bedraagt 1.852 m. De bergpas is volledig geasfalteerd, op sommige plaatsen is de rijbaan echter slechts een rijstrook breed. Op de pashoogte bevindt zich een kleine grindparkeergelegenheid.
De pas is vandaag de dag beter bekend als Passo del Mortirolo, dat eigenlijk een zijpas van de Passo della Foppa is. Onder deze naam gebeurt ook de bewegwijzering van de route vanuit Monno.
