De Theodulhütte ligt op de grens tussen Italië en Zwitserland op 3317 m boven zeeniveau, ten noorden van de Theodulpas en slechts enkele meters onder de bergstation van de Bontadini-lift.
Ze wordt beheerd door de Club Alpino Italiano en is in de zomer van juni tot september geopend. Vanwege de nabijheid van het skigebied Zermatt–Breuil-Cervinia is de hut ook in de winter geopend. Met 60 bedden is het een belangrijk vertrekpunt voor bergtochten in het Monte-Rosa-gebied, op de Breithorn en op de Kleine Matterhorn.
