Via dei Fori Imperiali is een brede, kaarsrechte weg tussen de Piazza Venezia en het Colosseum, aangelegd onder Mussolini om zijn parades te houden.
Aan beide zijden, beneden het huidige straatniveau, zien we de imposante Romeinse resten van de vele "Fori", indertijd opgetrokken onder gezag van diverse keizers. Deze drukke weg in het centrum van de stad wordt geleidelijk verkeersvrij. De werken die er nu worden uitgevoerd zijn deze voor de aanleg van de nieuwe metrolijn C.
