Ze bevindt zich in de wijk Ville-Haute en is samen met de Allées Porte-Neuve, Monterey en Marie-Thérèse een van de vier hoofdassen die na de sloop van de vesting Luxemburg in het westen en noorden van de stad zijn geopend. Zoals de andere 3 straten heeft ze het mogelijk gemaakt om nieuwe woongebieden te bouwen en te ontwikkelen en de ontwikkeling van de stad te faciliteren.
