De Drie Pagodenpas ligt op 22 km van Sangkhlaburi. De drie pagoden waren oorspronkelijk drie hopen stenen; vandaar de naam van de locatie 'De drie stenen hopen'. Later werden de stenen hopen bedekt door chedi. Dit gebied was een grensovergang die intensief werd gebruikt door Thaise en Birmese legers sinds de eerste Birmese aanval op Ayutthaya in 1568/69 na Christus tot de oorlog van de negen legers ten tijde van koning Rama I (1785 na Christus). Het markeert ook de ruige grens tussen Thailand en Myanmar en is de locatie van een kleine bloeiende grensmarkt.
