Het Anne Frank huis is het huis waar de Joodse Anne Frank verscholen zat tijdens de tweede wereldoorlog, voor ze door tyfus sterft na een verblijf in Auschwitz. In 1940 verhuisde de familie Frank naar het huis op de Prinsengracht, net toen de Duitsers Nederland binnenvielen. De familie sloot zich op in het achterhuis van de woning, waar Anne op 13 jarige leeftijd haar dagboek begon te schrijven. Doordat het huis nogal complex in elkaar zit, met een smalle façade maar een diepe achterbouw, konden de Duitsers niet achterhalen dat een gehele familie in het Achterhuis verscholen zat. 4 jaar lang verbleef Anne in het huis. Naast het huis is nu het museum van Anne Frank gebouwd.
