Swifterbant is een dorp in de gemeente Dronten, in de provincie Flevoland. Het dorp had 6.305 inwoners per 1 januari 2021, in 1972 waren dat er nog slechts 2.870.Swifterbant werd in 1957 ontworpen in de vanaf 1950 drooggelegde polder Oostelijk Flevoland. In 1962 werden de eerste huizen opgeleverd. De bewoners vinden emplooi in de landbouw in de polder, en in nijverheid en dienstverlening in de plaatsen Dronten en Lelystad.
