Den Ham is een brinkdorp in de gemeente Twenterand, in de provincie Overijssel, op ongeveer 8 kilometer ten zuidoosten van Ommen en 18 kilometer ten noordwesten van Almelo en telt 5.830 inwoners . Het dorp zelf behoort tot de regio Twente, zowel qua dialect als ook rechtshistorisch.Den Ham is een veel gebruikte uitvalsbasis om dit natuurgebied te verkennen. Nergens anders in Nederland is het oorspronkelijk coulisselandschap van akkers, weilanden, houtwallen, bos en heide zo goed bewaard gebleven. Tussen Den Ham en Ommen ligt natuurgebied het "Eerder Achterbroek". In dit natuurgebied is ook "Landgoed Eerde" met kasteel Eerde gesitueerd.
