Als parochie vinden we de eerste vermelding in 1351. Een bestaande kapel ging toen dienst doen als parochiekerk. Rond 1500 bouwde men een geheel nieuwe kerk met toren, op de plaats waar hij nu nog staat. In 1922 werd de oude kerk afgebroken en een nieuwe gebouwd. De toren bleef in zijn oude vorm bestaan en kreeg pas in 1954 een grondige restauratie. De toren staat nu op de monumentenlijst.
