Erica is een dorp in de gemeente Emmen, in de Nederlandse provincie Drenthe. Het ligt ten zuiden van Emmen, precies gelegen tussen Nieuw-Amsterdam, Emmen, Klazienaveen en Schoonebeek.Erica is rond 1863 ontstaan als boekweitkolonie op de hogere zandgronden, en groeide later uit tot een echte veenkolonie toen rond 1863 de Hoogeveense Vaart gereed kwam; het centrum kwam toen aan het kanaal te liggen.
