Yerseke is het hart van de Zeeuwse mosselcultuur. Voor de kust van Yerseke ligt ondiep water. Dat was vroeger een polder waar aardappelen groeiden en nu weer onder water werd gezet. Een uitstekende plek om de mosselen te laten rijpen. Hier komt mosselen met frieten echt tot hun recht.
