Het voormalig zendstation Radio Kootwijk is een baken temidden van de Veluwse natuur. Vanuit dit voormalig zendstation werd in de vorige eeuw contact onderhouden met Nederlands-Indië.
Rust, ruimte en duisternis omringen het opvallende ontwerp van architect Julius Maria Luthmann. Ze geven het gebouwencomplex een bijzondere dimensie.
Na het wegvallen van de zendfunctie verkocht KPN Telecom in 2003 de gebouwen en de omliggende 400 hectare natuur aan het Rijk. Verschillende overheden zoeken nu samen naar een nieuwe bestemming voor dit unieke en kwetsbare complex.
