Het ligt ten noordoosten van Wommels en ten zuidwesten van Lollum. De dorpskern ligt aan de noordkant van de Kubaardervaart. Bij Wommels loopt de N359 en aan de andere kant van het dorpsgebied loopt de Slachtedijk.In 2021 telde het dorp 230 inwoners. Onder het dorp vallen ook de buurtschappen De Grits en Zwarte Beien.
