Het Air Operations Control Station Nieuw Milligen is het commandocentrum van de Koninklijke Luchtmacht, vanwaar alle militaire vliegoperaties in het toegewezen gebied worden gevolgd en gecoördineerd. Het AOCS NM is verantwoordelijk voor de aan Nederland toegewezen zone, te weten het Nederlandse luchtruim, afgebakend door de nationale grens en een aangrenzend gebied boven de Noordzee tot ca. 200 km ten noorden van Leeuwarden.
