De Waterkering Nijkerkersluis in de Randmeren tussen het Nuldernauw (Oostzijde) en het Nijkerkernauw (Westzijde) is aangelegd tussen de jaren 1963 en 1965 en in gebruik genomen in 1966. De waterkering beschermt de Veluwe langs de oostelijke Randmeren en de achterliggende polders tegen hoogwater vanuit het Markermeer, dat als buitenwater wordt beschouwd.
De Nijkerkersluis overbrugt als schutsluis voor de scheepvaart (35.000 passerende schepen per jaar) het vrij geringe verval tussen de twee Randmeren.
