Description

Ten oosten van het dorpje Oijen (vlak bij Oss), tussen de fraaie Lindenlaan, de uiterwaarden en de Maas, ligt het kasteel van Oijen. Maria van Brabant gaf in 1361 opdracht om het Kasteel van Oijen te bouwen. Als voorpost aan de Maas moest het Brabant beschermen tegen invallen van de Geldersen. Ooit was dit een gigantisch kasteel met gebouwen tot buiten de dijken. Wat nu nog overblijft zijn de twee voorgebouwen.
