Sint Pancratiuskerk, Kerkplein 1 Mesch
De Sint Pancratiuskerk is een bezoekje meer dan waard. De oudste delen, het schip met de eerste drie ramen, dateren waarschijnlijk uit de 9de of 10de eeuw. Hiervan getuigt het voor Nederland unieke opus spicatum, het visgraatband (zie foto), in de buitenmuur. De fraaie Sint Pancratiuskerk, gelegen aan het Pelgrimspad en het Pieterpad is een van Nederlands' oudste stenen gebouwen en de oudste kerk van Limburg. Sint Pancratius is een van de drie ijsheiligen. De anderen twee zijn Sint Servaas en Sint Bonifatius. Met augustuskermis was het gebruikelijk om de relikwieën van Sint Pancratius te vereren. Hij werd vooral aangeroepen voor hulp bij kinderziektes, maar ook bij jicht, reumatiek en eczeem.
