Het huis is gebouwd in 1904-1905, samen met het apart staande koetshuis. Er was in die tijd nog weinig begroeiing zodat er rondom uitzicht moet zijn geweest. Nu is er voor het huis nog een fraai heideveld met solitair staande bomen. Opvallend zijn de vele verwilderde rododendrons die her en der rond het huis groeien. Het huis heeft later als hotel en in de jaren 60 als herstellingsoord dienst gedaan. Nu is het in gebruik als kantoorpand.
