In Etten-Leur in aan de Rijsbergseweg nabij Rijsbergen staat een monument, een naald van steen, die de eerste vlucht boven Nederland in 1909 herdenkt. Het monument werd onthuld in 1935.
In 1984 werd een nieuwe plaquette aangebracht en in 2003 een extra informatiebord.
Voor automobilisten heeft de gemeente Etten-Leur onlangs twee parkeerplaatsen bij de naald laten aanleggen.
