De huidige St. Gummaruskerk 1902 vervangt een kerk uit begin negentiende eeuw, die te klein geworden was. De kerk behoort tot de belangrijkste latere werken in het oeuvre van dr. P.J.H. Cuypers, zij het dat het ontwerp gewijzigd is uitgevoerd door zijn zoon Jos en Jan Stuyt. Door oorlogshandelingen zwaar beschadigd in 1944, herstel 1949, toren herbouwd in 1960. Grote restauratie met zgn. kanjersubsidie, jaren 2000.
