Van Bunde tot aan Elsloo ligt een langgerekt, sprookjesachtig hellingbos. Het deel bij Elsloo is het steilste hellingbos in Nederland en er ontspringen
verschillende bronnetjes. Het is een bos vol leven!
In de lente is het Bunderbos een geliefde wandelplek, omdat bermen en de bosbodem volstaan met kleurrijke voorjaarsbloeiers. Het is ook het territorium van de das
en de vos. Een bijzondere bewoner is de zeldzame vuursalamander, die met zijn geel-zwarte huid wel heel exotisch oogt.
Let op: in dit gebied kunnen zich wilde zwijnen begeven. Wandel daarom voor je eigen veiligheid niet in de schemer of tijdens zonsopgang, houd honden aangelijnd en blijf op de paden.
