Hank is een dorp in de gemeente Altena, in de Nederlandse provincie Noord-Brabant. Het telt ongeveer 4.330 inwoners, en ligt aan de rand van de Biesbosch. Hank ligt tussen Nieuwendijk en Raamsdonksveer.Het dorp werd aanvankelijk Mariapolder genoemd. Over de betekenis van de naam Hank is veel gefantaseerd. Soldaten zijn hier blijven "hangen" en de vissers hadden hier hun netten "hangen". Waarschijnlijk is de naam echter afgeleid van "hang" of "hank", dat de betekenis heeft van een doodlopende kil of kreek in de buitengronden langs grote rivieren.
