In 1592 verscheen een bevelschrift tot reformatie van de Veluwe. het Katholicisme schrompelde ineen tot kleine, zeer individuele kernen. 370 jaar later, op 12 maart 1962 kreeg Ermelo een nieuwe R.K. Parochie.
