Het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam is een museum in Amsterdam voor moderne en hedendaagse kunst en vormgeving, opgericht in 1874. In 1895 opende het museum in een nieuw gebouw aan de Paulus Potterstraat, nabij het Rijksmuseum.Vanaf 1909 betrof het verzamelgebied de moderne en hedendaagse kunst en later ook fotografie en design. Het museum beheert per 31 december 2020 bijna 103.000 objecten die vanaf 1874 zijn verzameld. In de collectie zijn vrijwel alle belangrijke stromingen van de 20ste eeuw en 21ste eeuw vertegenwoordigd. Dit geldt zowel voor kunst als vormgeving. Zwaartepunten vormen De Stijl, het Bauhaus, CoBrA, popart, maar ook het oudere neo-impressionisme.
