Gekke naam toch, Baanakkerspark? Die vraagt om uitleg. De naam komt van Baanakkerspad. Dit pad lag er al voordat het park er kwam. Het pad liep wellicht ooit helemaal naar het noordelijk gelegen natuurgebied De Baanakkers in het Wormer- en Jisperveld, nu Natura 2000-gebied.
