Wijngoed Lenoire

In 17 years Bas Lenoire has visited more than 400 wine estates. This gave plenty of fuel to his dream and ambition to one day produce his own wine. A winemaker training and the possibilities of the plot on the Rasberg did the rest. The first 4,000 vines were planted in 2021, and there are now almost 11,000 in total. This vineyard is also part of Route des Vins Berg en Terblijt - Houthem St. Gerlach.
terroir The Rasberg is a beautiful gift from Mother Nature. In the 'Cretaceous period' marl formed which consists of 90% lime. This soil composition is very suitable for viticulture. There is also a lot of pebble due to the Meuse deposit, which contributes to excellent water management.
Landscape and climate From the wine estate you have a breathtaking view over the Maas valley from Kanne to the Zwartberg coal mine in Genk. Maastricht is prominently visible. The southwestern oriented slope is 120 meters above NAP. This location creates a microclimate.
Grape and wine varieties 4 grape varieties grow and bloom on the Lenoire vineyard: Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. We produce 4 exclusive wines: Pinot Gris Grand Cru, Chardonnay Barrique, Cuvée Lenoire and Grande Cuvée 'Méthode traditionelle'.
wine process Each wine has its own production process: the Pinot Gris grand cru is 'raised' on large wood. Our Chardonnay matures in traditional Burgundy barrique. The Grande Cuvée is a 'bubble' of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Méthode traditionelle. And finally, we make our 'Cuvée Lenoire' from a blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay.
