Sinds 1574 is er een veerverbinding tussen Breskens en Vlissingen. In 1958 is deze verplaatst naar de huidige plaats. Sinds 2003 is het autoveer i.v.m. de komst van de Westerscheldetunnel vervangen door een fiets-voetveer
