Cârțișoara is een commune in het district Sibiu, Transylvanië, Roemenië. Het bestaat uit een enkel dorp, Cârțișoara. Het Bâlea-meer ligt op het grondgebied van Cârțișoara. De commune ligt in het zuidoostelijke deel van het district, 48 km van de hoofdplaats, Sibiu, en 38 km van Făgăraș. Cârțișoara is gelegen aan de westelijke rand van Țara Făgărașului, aan de noordzijde van de Zuidelijke Karpaten, aan de voet van de Făgăraș-bergen; het ligt aan de grens met het district Argeș en dicht bij de grenzen met de districten Vâlcea en Brașov. De commune ligt op de linkeroever van de rivier Cârțișoara, die van zuid naar noord stroomt en uitmondt in de Olt-rivier.
