De tempel Angkor Wat is een hindoeïstische tempel in de Cambodjaanse provincie Siem Reap, en wordt beschouwd als het grootste religieuze bouwwerk ter wereld. De tempel is een van de belangrijkste overblijfselen uit de periode van het Khmer-rijk. Rond de tempel lag de stad Angkor Wat.
De tempel Angkor Wat is gebouwd tussen 1113 en 1145, tijdens de regeerperiode van Suryavarman II (regeerde van 1113-1150), en is de grootste etagepiramide op het Zuidoost-Aziatische vasteland.
Het monument van Angkor Wat berust op een bouwstijl die terugvoert op de stichting van de eerste steden en tempels in het gebied.
