Ooit was het een beruchte smokkelzone. Vandaag vormen Elsakker en de Strijbeekse Heide een wonderschoon natuurgebied op de grens van Hoogstraten en Nederland. Boswachters Bart Hoeymans (43) van het Belgische Agentschap Natuur en Bos (ANB) en Helmut van Pelt (45) van het Nederlandse Staatsbosbeheer loodsen ons door bos en heide.
