Laren (Gelderland)

The Gelderland village of Laren is located in the triangle Deventer – Zutphen – Lochem and has been part of the municipality of Lochem since 1971. With a church, library, tourist office, shops and several restaurants, the village offers everything that a person should not lack. Laren is also known as 'Fietsdorp Laren' and for many years a Fietsvierdaagse has been organized here in the first week of August. Laren is not large with about 3500 inhabitants, but is known for the annual fair, bike rides or the Dikke Boom. Many compatriots have visited this Achterhoek village during their holiday. You too can enjoy the beauty of the village and its surroundings. In terms of surface area, Laren is large. There are many farms in the countryside, mainly in the form of mixed farms with both arable and livestock farming. Partly hidden in the green are a number of beautiful country houses and castles.

Verwolde Castle is home to the thickest oak in the Netherlands, with a size of 7.52 metres. Laren is located in the scenery, so characteristic of the Achterhoek. An environment that is really worth seeing, walking or cycling.
