The three mysteriously smiling faces, looking obliquely upwards, radiate deep happiness.
In the old, white-painted school building (still in 2022??) is the museum of this painter and artist . Charles Delporte, from Marcinelle, donated an important collection to the city of Damme. Delporte's work is described as that of a seer who has rediscovered alchemy and based his work on a scientific basis. More than 300 of his visual works of art have been exhibited worldwide.
