The Coming Pitzenburg was founded around the year 1200 by the " Order of the Hospitallers of Our Lady of the Germans in Jerusalem" (German Order) during the Crusades in Palestine.
Nothing is known about the first building activities . An engraving from 1580 shows a building with courtyard and chapel . In 1664 a blue stone gate was built. It was connected to the chapel.
During the French era in Belgium, Pitzemburg was confiscated in 1794 and sold as state property . In 1822 the chapel was bought and completely demolished . Everything else was bought by the city of Mechelen in 1827. The old baroque order's residence was used for municipal education from 1832 onwards.
He had two entrance pavilions built from the gate demolished in 1836.
