ROCKWEIDEWANDELING 11KM - Along the festival site of Rock Werchter!

Attention! This walk is not accessible during the festival season from May to August. The Rock Werchter walk is dedicated to the annual Rock Werchter festival. A festival that completely turns the charming village of Werchter upside down every year. The walk starts at the Hanewijk bridge. At the start we first follow the Demer for 150 m before turning left into the Hazepad. At the exit of this road we arrive at the Haachtsesteenweg, on the other side is the festival meadow. We walk around the festival site. When we have 1.5 km in total, we will explore the area behind the festival site: the Werchters Broek. We make a loop of 3 km through the Werchters Broek. On the way we come across the Kraenenveldhoeve. When we came out of the Werchters broek we did 4.5 km. We pass back a part of the festival site. On this piece we see the stacked shipping containers of artist Arne Quinze. We cross the Haachtsesteenweg again and arrive in the Dijle valley. We follow this 2 km until we reach the Dijledijk. After 1.5 km on the Dijledijk we arrive at the Damien Bridge. Next to this bridge is a statue of Father Damien. When we cross the bridge we come back to the Dijledijk. We walk 3 km until the Dijle valley brings us back to the village of Werchter. After more than 11 km we arrive back at our starting place, the Hanebrug. In the experience center of Rock Werchter you can immerse yourself even further in the music scene.
